Make sure you have a motherboard with a rear cutout that will allow you to access the backplate. If not, get the GAMMAXX 300. CoolerMaster packages their coolers with some paste. You don't need to purchase Arctic Silver on top of it.
So the issue is that the heatsink is too heavy to attach to my CPU without a bracket attaching it to the mobo, right? Are there any heatsinks I can use that are decent and don't have that problem?
Uses a standard AMD Clip. Extremely quiet. Should not interfere with RAM. Performs reasonably well. Not priced out of the park. I use these on AMD builds all the time.
Hey guys! I installed my new heatsink yesterday and OMG EVERYTHING IS SO QUIET THIS IS THE BEST EVER. Thank you for explaining everything to me like I'm five!

That's a bit overkill if there isn't any overclocking being done.
Hyper 212+. Best deal.
You're telling me everyone doesn't overclock? Madness.
Yep.
So this plus some thermal paste? Does it matter what thermal paste I get?
I've always gone with Arctic Silver 5. Just get a tiny tube.

Oh, I don't know that I have a cut out in my mobo.
You don't. He was referring to the metal tray that the motherboard attaches to inside the case.

Most of the ones I know about use backplates, but here is one that is from a nice fan company and is toolless.
