i removed the 1 GB stick and yes i had the same setting with the 7300 GT i changed nothing
maybe becouse that 1 day my computed shutted it self off and made a BIG BUZZYING sound then it turned it self back on and still logged in on WIndows i was like wtf???
maybe it had a side effect and broke a Ram card???
Another point... even though you have solved your problem you haven't said that you managed to update your driver successfully...
Where did you download the driver from? If you got it from the card manufacturer it will be out of date even though you downloaded and installed a few days ago. Make sure you get the drivers from the nVidia website.
Also the 500-600 PSU recomendation is for SLI use. This is when you are running two cards together. 400w should be enough. I would consider removing one of the CD drives though. You dont really need two.

You had that same config when you had the 7300 installed?

Also.. make sure you use modules of the same size, that is also part of the performance problem.
a 1GB stick and a 2GB stick are not the same size.
Are you using 1 x 2GB module or 2 x 1GB modules to make 2GB right now.
Do you have 1 stick or 2 sticks of ram (without your brothers)?

im using this 1 right now
If you only have other 1GB Sticks.. take out the 2GB stick.
i Borrowed my bothers 1 GB ram and it works Fine on my comp its going smooth
i gess my 1GB card is broken
but my 7300 GT worked fine with it, i gess it dont get along with my new 1
You are missing out on Dual channel properly though with a 1GB stick and a 2GB stick.
You have 2 or 4 ram slots?
Also... that 2GB stick is actually recognized as 2GB? Surprising on that older chipset.
