A lot of Ghosts take the tree because of the soloability potential, and because having a single good ghost on your team made a ton of missions a lot smoother. I get that they're trying to make team composition and co-ordination matter a lot more, but I think they majorly underestimate how much of their playerbase plays in PUGs or solo.
It would seem they mean to remove kill-all/bag-all from the game entirely, if what I've been reading is true. On paper, that doesn't sound so bad, but without means with which to distract or otherwise lead guards away from certain areas, stealthing a lot of missions has just become impossible (even BEFORE you factor in that Framing Frame now has RESPAWNING GUARDS, the fuck).
That's kind of the huge issue with these changes- If they're going to take away tools, they need to replace them with others. Right now, stealth in general is pretty fucked. They're pushing Payday 2 back towards Payday 1 with a lot of these changes, and..well, that's not really a good thing, actually.
I'm trying to be understanding, but honestly I wonder just how much these changes were actually -tested- before they rolled them out? It feels like they're just throwing random cuts at the game to try and fix issues, without taking the actual time to retool things. Cut now, fix later. That's pretty shitty patching, if you ask me.
I'm gonna give them time to consider community feedback and patch before I push the subject too much further, but right now- this is kind of looking like a major mess.
OTHER CHANGES THEY DIDN'T TALK ABOUT (which are kind of important!): -It now takes time for the escape van to appear of the lab gets blown in the first day of RATS- 3 minutes. This is apparently to discourage farming RATS, but they've, again, done nothing to actually address the issues with the mission. Cooking the meth STILL takes the same amount of time, and afterwards you still have to wait a minute and a half for the van to arrive once the meth is done. So blowing the lab at the beginning is STILL the far more efficient way to do the mission- nothing has changed.
-If you end a mission "In Custody", you now get a MASSIVE EXP penalty. Somewhere to the tune of 75%-80% of the total going up in smoke.
-Titan Cameras. Yeah.
-Framing Frame now has respawning guards. Yup. The mission that's entirely designed to be done in stealth and heavily penalizes you for not doing so, now coincides with the new "changes" to basically make it pretty damn impossible to stealth.
I'm currently level 100 so XP means nothing to me currently. I'm not one to complain but I do have a few thoughts on the update:
I played for about 2 hours a couple nights ago doing my typical 4 stores and jewelry store to farm some cards. Within that time I am now at -100% XP on Four Stores. Seems a bit steep to me.
I was able to stealth Jewelry store on hard. Had to leave all the bodies laying in the street. Got lucky and they were pretty much all grouped together. Once past the initial massicar, It went like normal from there.
I really do miss solo stealth FF.
Death Wish:
Jewelry store has gates on both sides. You can not take out the guards in the back without going out a window.
Four Stores: No ATMS.
Was still able to use the ATM trick on Four Stores Overkill but it seemed in my runs a much higher % of escapes.

The level of commitment you guys have when it comes to stealing gold, cash and jewelry is impressive and you’ve painted the city red, no doubt.
As you’re probably aware, we at OVERKILL take our jobs seriously. We’ve read your feedback, and we’d like to announce something that’s been in the works for some time: a major stealth update.
Yeah, you read that right. With the help of your feedback, we’ve come up with a plan for all you sneaky bastards out there lurking in the shadows.
Let’s get to the point. Here’s what we’re working on for the upcoming free stealth update:
Moving cable tied civilians Nothing says “I own you” more than having a controllable hostage. As soon as you’ve subdued and zip tied a civilian, you’ll be able to tell them to follow you around by interacting with them.
Whenever the situation demands it, you can interact with the hostage again and they’ll lie down on the spot.
Stealth Reward System Enjoy the feeling of walking away as if the crime never happened? We’ve got some good news for you. Finishing a heist in stealth will award you with an EXP boost. That boost will then apply to the next contract you choose; you can spend it on any job, stealthable or not, but only on the next contract. Once you’ve spent it it’s gone.
You can obtain the EXP boost again by completing a heist in stealth at any given time. The stealth bonus stacks through the days, so a full three day successful stealth will be greater than one successful stealth day and one failed, but you’ll still get a bonus.
Everyone gets one body bag by default The title says it all. Bain heard you like body bags, so he decided to give one to every one of you.
Ghosts get one additional body bag The Cleaner skill will give The Ghost one additional body bag, two in total.
Ghosts also get the Body Bag Asset Ever wanted to share your body bags with your crew so you can stealth together? This asset, linked to the Cleaner skill, is perfect for Hitmen and their gang members. With this skill the Ghost will be able to buy a body bag asset which contains three body bags. This asset is placed on a predetermined spot, and will be accessible for everyone in your crew, including yourself.
The Dominator Skill and the new alarm pager operators Every player with the Dominator skill can now dominate one guard each at the same time. But apparently the old pager operators got fired, and more experienced operators are taking over. So clear your throats, and get ready to answer the pager as soon as you dominate a guard.
We’re balancing the spawning guard patrols The spawning patrol guards will still appear, but we’re balancing the time interval based on the heist difficulty. Also, Bain has promised to be more observant regarding the patrols, so he’ll let you know whenever they send in new guards and roughly when they’ll arrive.
A new Spotter Asset will highlight guards The Spotter is a new stealth asset. He is similar to Ilija the Sniper and stays hidden somewhere off the map, but instead of killing guards and law enforcers, he’ll spot and highlight them for you and your crew.
We’re balancing the amount of guards and civilians on each map and difficulty.
Going forward, we’ll gradually roll out these changes to the stealth system. Let us know what you think of the planned changes above and stay tuned for more information regarding the coming stealth update.

How many times are you will to forgive them? They keep doing this and it makes their design/architecture/testing phases look transparent since most releases they do are horrible and it takes them at least a month to recover. Statements like this simply mean we broke something so bad we don't care about fixing it correctly but we will simply sort of patch it maybe when we get around to it....MASK(#HATS).
Well, unlike most companies and designers, they actually DO "get around to it", to their credit. I can't tell you how many game companies have basically said "deal with it" when it comes to broken shit.
This is, honestly, the first time they've broken shit THIS bad, though. As in, tore out one of the cornerstones of their game with their teeth and put nothing in it's place to hold it back up again. Their swift response on the issue indicates they're on top of it...as long as they keep said swiftness up, I won't have as much of a problem.
Right now, I'm reserving future judgement until I see how this plays out.
I got my wife Payday 2 this weekend, so me and some friends were helping her level last night. With her DLC, she got the christmas album, and you get a random santa mask from it, and you get an achieve for all four doing a job with a santa mask on.
So we all put our respective different ones on, and she took a screenshot to use as her desktop pic. And it couldn't have been MORE perfect. Poses and all.

Yea, buddy of mine and I play this a couple times a week usually. We keep up with the DLC when it goes on sale, which is frequent enough it works out well.
Currently we're trying to do Shadow Raid on Death Wish and grab the armor. Not hard necessarily, just been running into little encounters that blow the mission.

It sounds like they're taking steps in the right direction. I'm willing to forgive if they're willing to fix, to be sure.

I finally found a group of people to try the game with last night. Pretty great time, but snipers are not so much fun.
I never really had a problem with them, just keep moving around and when you hear the call for them, start scanning the tops of buildings.
Yeah the map we were on, I was standing on the roof when 4 snipers showed up at once.
Also taser/flashbang is an interesting combo to get hit with in a level.
Oh yuck. I still want to do one of the "go until you die" plays with you people. I guess that means I need to actually be online.
