BlackBerry Curve 8530 comes to Sprint

blackberry8530Blk_FSprint announced today that it is now officially offering the BlackBerry Curve 8530.

The Curve 8530, codename Aries, is the CDMA version of the previously-released Curve 8520. The device takes its visual cues from the BlackBerry Bold 9700 with beveled keys, a black bezel, and an optical trackpad, but drops 3G support as is typical of all models in RIM’s Curve series of products.

In the specs department, the phone features a 320×240 display, 256MB onboard memory (expandable to 32GB via MicroSD), a 2MP camera, 802.11b/g WiFi, BlueTooth 2.0+EDR and GPS.

The Curve 8530 (“Aries”) is available starting today for $49.99 after instant savings and a $100 MIR with 2-year contract.

  1. thymian The phone looks & feels great, but has some deficiencies. The upside? The trackpad is a great touch and WiFi is long overdue. This is a decent entry level phone, but there are much better BlackBerrys out there for a few dollars more.
  2. mas0n I do envy the trackpad. I wish they would have used it on the Tour.
