Coolink GFXChilla Review

Coolink GFXChilla Review

Conclusion

Coolink has thoroughly impressed me with their new GFXChilla. It is an incredibly potent cooler, able to maintain a GPU load temperature almost 40°C below that of our OEM ATI cooler—all while doing so at lower noise levels. The GFXChilla is a very versatile cooler as well, compatible with just about every graphics card out there. The best part about the GFXChilla, however, is its price. At only $30, Coolink’s GFXChilla is an incredible value.

At the $30 pricepoint, the GFXChilla is not only a great performance replacement, but a perfect choice for someone with an older, noisy card like the X850 for example—or even those with a failing fan.

My only complaint about the GFXChilla is the weak adhesive used for the memory and VR heatsinks. Care must be taken when peeling off the backing and a healthy amount of pressure must be put on them to ensure that they are fit securely. In the end, these are very minor gripes and are shadowed by the great performance and value of the GFXChilla. I highly recommend it and am pleased to award it with Icrontic’s “Outstanding Product Award”. A special thanks goes out to Coolink for providing this sample.

Pros:

  • Great performance!
  • Good build quality
  • Compatible with dozens of cards
  • Fantastic price (a steal at $30)

Cons:

  • Weak and finicky adhesive on ramsinks
  • Mounting posts difficult to tighten

    NCIX carries coolink products:

They are pretty new to the North American market, so most retailers do not carry their products yet.
