A reinvention of the classic top-down combat racer genre—Fuel Overdose is set to blend retro-styled isometric action with a fresh tactical twist.
Developers I-Friqiya have the unenviable task of producing a title simple enough to offer some casual fun but with enough depth to keep hardcore gamers interested. With this in mind, what could have been a fairly simplistic combat arena/racing game with the usual array of vehicles, drivers and game modes has evolved into one with a “resource management system for the vehicles and weaponry” as well as gameplay options such as a grappling hook that can be manipulated by skilful players to perform perfect high speed turns. Though casual gamers will probably be attracted to the array of upgradable weapons, racing purists will still be able to take advantage of the more advanced driving options available as they drift, skid and spin through the weapon-free modes.
Although there is currently no word on a release date for Fuel Overdose it should be speeding to a PC and Playstation Network release before too long.
