The folks over at the Indie Royale have just unveiled their latest offering—this time it’s three in-development titles getting the bundle treatment in the Indie Royale’s Alpha Bundle.
Starting us off is Towns, a sort of SimCity/Dungeon Keeper hybrid. Towns puts the player in control of a settlement above a dungeon, but rather than have the player exploring its depths Towns has them constructing and managing what would be the obligatory oddly situated NPC village in your usual hack and slash game.
If Fallout 3 was Oblivion with guns then this next title is the equivalent for Minecraft. 3079 places the player in a procedurally generated world with a definite, blocky, Minecraft feel and offers an interesting take on a first person RPG across both single and mutliplayer modes.
Wrapping this one up is Wyv and Keep: the Temple of the Lost Idol, a charming 2D puzzle platformer with a co-operative twist. The player is given control of the titular Wyv and Keep and must navigate them both through a series of platforms, obstacles and traps using each character independently, either alone or in the local/online co-operative modes.
Although these games are all still in alpha they have been selected as they are far enough along the development process to offer an enjoyable gaming experience. Buying this bundle will certainly give gamers more than just the satisfaction of supporting some up-and-coming indie developers. As the games are developed further new features and so forth will be added to the builds available on the Indie Royale site or Desura right up to and including the final releases.
