Medal of Honor goes Modern War… we’re not gonna say it

We've been dying to find a use for this picture

A new installment of EA’s venerable war shooter franchise, Medal of Honor, has been teased at today. A trailer seen on GameTrailers.com reveals that the next entry in the series will be modern, with a “a new war” and a “new warrior”, who looks suspiciously like Tom French from Pandemic Studios… Or perhaps Jeffrey Lebowski.

This is not a stupid move; EA must have seen the writing on the wall that says “Hey fellas: Activision just made eleventy billion brobucks on Modern Warfare 2.” It would have been great to have been a fly on the wall at THAT board meeting.

“What can we do to get money from that demographic? What have we got?”

14 Dec 2009 ~ 11:47am UPSLynx The trailer felt completely uninspired, and I simply didn't care. It's not that we have a plethora of middle east FPS these days, not to the extent that we have WWII shooters anyways, it simply felt like this had all been done before.

Super dramatic cutscenes! The horror of the line of duty! The true meanings of sacrifice! Vehicle segments! Night vision segments! Gun emplacements!

Despite the fact that I don't even really like Call of Duty anymore, the new MoH only feels like more of the same, and that it's been done before.
