Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken on PC

Reverb Publishing are set to bring yet another indie title to PC with Ratloop Asia’s Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, slated for release this fall.

Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken itself is a bizarre yet stylish shooter featuring an intriguing art style and hardcore ornithological action, all from a 2D platforming perspective. Building upon its browser-based-brother, Rocketbirds: Revolution!Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken offers players the chance to take control of the titular “Hardboiled Chicken” in a single player campaign to free “Albatropolis” from subjugation by a totalitarian penguin regime headed by the villainous “Putzki”. If that’s not your bag, you can also team up with a friend in a co-op campaign as a pair of commando budgies on a mission to save a general’s daughter.

The combination of sharp visuals and intense 2D action should take it far on PC with similar indie offerings like Shank having already proved popular.

Having previously seen release on the PlayStation Network to critical praise, Reverb are not so quietly confident about this one with executive producer Ted Lange describing “Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken as “one of the wackiest, coolest things I’ve ever seen in a 2D platformer. The first time it was shown to me, I knew we had to be a part of this amazing vision”.
