Noctua announces new NH-D14 heatsink

The DH14 in all its funky glory

It’s been a while since we heard anything new from Noctua but they finally announced a new heatsink earlier this month. They call it the NH-D14, and if it’s anything like previous Noctua products, it’ll be awesome. This is the company’s first heatsink to use a 140mm fan (hence the D14 name), but they’ve gone so far as to pair it with an additional 120mm fan for a funky staggered design.

Here’s the info from their press release:

The NH-D14’s asymmetrical design gives more clearance towards the RAM slots and thus ensures good compatibility despite of the cooler’s size. Hanging out at the bottom of the fin-stacks, the NF-P14 fan doesn’t only contribute to the NH-D14’s superb CPU cooling capabilities but also provides massive airflow over surrounding motherboard components and heatsinks.

Topped off with a tube of Noctua’s award-winning NT-H1 thermal compound as well as the new SecuFirm2™ multi-socket mounting system (LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA775, AM2, AM2+ and AM3), the NH-D14 is an elite choice for the highest demands in premium quality quiet cooling.

The NH-14D is expected to hit the streets this month with an $85 price tag. It’s a high price but we’ve learned that when it comes to quiet running and exceptional build quality, you’re getting what you pay for when you buy a Noctua product.

Sledgehammer70 I would love to test this thing out vs. the NH-U12P SE2 I just bought.
  2. Sledgehammer70
Sledgehammer70 From what I have read in the only current online review is that the new ND-14 runs the system at 9.5C cooler at 4.0GHz OC than the NH-U12P. That is pretty impressive, it also looks to have given Noctua the lead again for cooling.
