NVIDIA intros three new Quadros

NVIDIA has expanded their Quadro workstation GPU line with three new products for entry-level and mobile workstations.

Leading off, the Quadro FX 380 LP is a very affordable ($169) entry-level solution designed for SFF systems. It features 512MB of GDDR3 memory, 16 CUDA cores, DisplayPort output, and an incredibly low power consumption of 28W max. Like the rest of NVIDIA’s Quadro series, the FX 380 LP also features 30-bit Deep Color support.

On the mobile side, the FX 2800M and 3800M bring the power of Quadro to mobile workstations. The FX 2800M weighs in with 96 CUDA cores, 1GB of GDDR3 memory, and a maximum power consumption of 78W. The 3800M sports 128 CUDA cores, 1GB of GDDR3 memory and uses a maximum of 100W.

Parties interested in the pair of mobile ASICs can find them in the Dell Precision M6500 mobile workstation. It can also be safely assumed that the HP Elitebook 8730w, which currently features the Quadro FX 2700M, will soon be updated to feature the new chips as well.

primesuspect That Quadro FX 380, at $169, is extremely compelling for dedicated video editing workstations for light workloads.
  2. UPSLynx
UPSLynx Exactly what I was thinking. Probably won't push pixels enough to make a huge dent in 3D application performance, but for nonlinear editing, that card probably gets it done.
