NZXT Aperture M is the card reader to end all card readers

NZXT Aperture M is the card reader to end all card readers

It’s hard to formally “review” a device like a media bay card reader, but it goes something like this: There is a media bay device for your PC. It has card slots and USB 3 ports. You plug it in and it works. It reads all the cards. All that ever were, even the newest SDXC. It is stylish, and fits in with NZXT’s smart design aesthetic. It is black mesh steel on the front, and is a full-depth 5.25″ bay for stability. It is very simple to hook up, with an extra-long USB2 header and USB3 header so you can cable-manage it properly. It has a bright white LED to indicate access.

Here are some pictures:

If you have a case with a mesh front, it will blend in flawlessly. I have a matte black case, so it looks slightly off, but it still doesn’t look bad.

The NZXT Aperture M: If you need it, you know it, and you should get it. It’s $34.99 and should be available at the Egg shortly.

    TheAlertHusky That's terribly sexy

BuddyJ When I ditch my mac at work, this will be my new card reader. Nice job NZXT. You've made something as pedestrian as a card reader sexy.
  3. shwaip
shwaip is the card reader actually usb3, or just the ports?
  4. primesuspect
primesuspect Just the ports. The card reader itself is USB2
  5. drasnor
drasnor I would accept requiring adapters to fit the micro cards into the larger slots to make this a 3.5" bay device.
  6. CrazyJoe
CrazyJoe I actually was just looking for a Media Card reader last night. This looks fantastic. Any chance on this being one of the raffles for Epic?

    ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Or just having stuff stacked a little differently...
  9. Zach Why would you want a 3.5" bay?

Only a few people have 3.5" hot-swap bays, which are accessible from the outside, but most people (like me) only have internal 3.5" bays. This way, you can have a nice visual appeal as well as a functional card reader.

Lots of cases still have one external 3.5" bays ...
