NZXT releases the Kraken X40 and X60

Kraken X60

NZXT, best known for their diverse lines of cases, has been expanding into related markets. Today, the company has quietly released the Kraken series of all-in-one liquid CPU coolers.

Currently the line is comprised of two models: the Kraken X40 and Kraken X60. The Kraken series appears to be the first all-in-one systems to use 140mm radiators—the X40 uses a single 140mm radiator while the X60 uses a 280mm radiator. The pump utilizes NZXT’s HUE controls for a wide array of colors. Power is supplied to the fans and pump by a SATA power connector (it’s about damn time). Both models use NZXT’s FX-140 fans, and enough fans are included with each model for one side of the radiator. Users have the option to add fans to the other side of the radiator for push-pull airflow. Thanks to 16 inches of tubing, both models should play nicely with large cases.

Software provided with the Kraken coolers will provide full control over pump and fan speeds, providing the option for maximum cooling, minimum noise, or an ideal balance.

Both Kraken models will be compatible with all modern sockets for both Intel and AMD systems. Pricing and availability information have not been released.

  1. RWB
RWB 140mm seems like a strange size since most cases have areas for 120mm(or even 240mm) but not too many I've seen have 140mm anything.
  2. fatcat
fatcat Actually I'm seeing a lot of new cases from Silverstone, NZXT etc with 140/120mm fan spots.

The benefit of 140mm over 120mm radiator as far as temps, I wouldn't know
