A Redditor on /r/gaming today posted pictures from a copy of PC Gamer UK that hit the newsstands today, revealing that THQ is releasing Company of Heroes 2 in 2013.
If you bring up Company of Heroes in any gaming discussion community, you’ll often hear things like “Company of Heroes was the best RTS I’ve ever played.”
Company of Heroes came out in 2006 and received rave reviews; at a Metacritic score of 93, it’s the highest rated RTS of all time.
There are still many people who play CoH, so to say that they would be excited for a follow-up to their favorite game would be a bit of an understatement. Some of the comments in the Reddit discussion say it best.
It appears this was an early leak as a newsstand prematurely put the issue up for sale, but the internet never takes anything back. Short of an official statement from THQ, this will have to suffice—get ready for more WW2 RTS in 2013 and also YLPV8-X657F-CMEEQ trololo.
