While we’re just getting over the massive disappointment that was Telltale Games’ Back to the Future point-and-click adventure game series, the usually-dependable company has released its first glimpse at its upcoming The Walking Dead video game adaptation. Granted, there’s not much to see here, but it’s a delicious sneak peek at what could be quite the serviceable companion adventure for the wildly successful comic book and television series. Escaped convict Lee Everett and whippersnapper Clementine here strike a (terrified) pose in front of a decrepit hotel, showcasing Telltale’s intentional broad-stroke visual approach.
It’s clear they’re doing their best to stick to the property’s comic book roots and Charlie Adlard’s original vision. I’m not usually one to judge on looks alone, but if this first cut is any indication, we’re in for a real treat with the interactive tale. And probably several bloody limbs as well. Personally, I’m quite interested in the latter.
