Unigine Heaven 2.0 benchmark released

Unigine Heaven 2.0 benchmark released

Today marks the release of the next iteration of the world’s first DirectX 11 benchmark, Unigine. The 2.0 edition brings the following new features to the table:

• More tessellation load.
• Optimized engine.
• Added several new art assets.
• Introduced “extreme” tessellation mode.

Unigine was a new name to the benchmarking scene with their mindblowing tessellation demo as seen in the 1.0 benchmark, and enabled the ability for DirectX 11 GPU owners (At the time, only ATI Radeon owners) to see the true power of their hardware. Trust us—turning hardware tessellation on and off in real time is a real eye-opener for what the tech is capable of.

Sledgehammer70 I wonder if Nvidia paid this company anything to develop the new version. I know tessellation is big but not something ATI is touting very widely. This might be a benchmark that allows Fermi to shine even more.
  2. Ian according to unigine. The benchmark is more balanced to reflect real world application.

I think that means less tesselation for Nvidia to shine in. Since tesselation isn't that big in the real world.
  3. Sledgehammer70
Sledgehammer70 No but they added the heavy tessellation option.
