Last night on WWE RAW, John Laurinaitis, The Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and the General Manager for RAW and Smackdown, came to the ring with Eve and David Otunga to reveal the cover of THQ’s WWE 13. The cover reveal turned out to be a picture of John Laurinaitis himself. If you know anything about what is going on in the WWE, John is not really the most popular cat on either show. Next, in true WWE dramatic fashion, WWE Champion CM Punk then came down to the ring and told John and company that John is not that popular at all. CM Punk then revealed the true cover of THQ WWE 13.
CM Punk deserves to be on the cover of WWE 13—not because he was in Ring of Honor before coming over to WWE, or that he has finally become the CM Punk that everyone has grown to love. Ever since his famous “pipebomb”, in which he completely dissected his issues with WWE, he has proved time and time again that he is a workhorse performer. His matches have always been top-notch and has set a new bar for any newcomers that enter the WWE ring. I am glad that THQ shares the same feelings as many fans do.
To be honest with you, there is one more wrestler that could have been on the cove, and that fans would have been perfectly fine with. That wrestler is Daniel Bryan. THQ is more likely to sell more copies of the game with a Face on the cover over a Heel, but Daniel Bryan has a lot of supporters, myself included. Also CoH2 key: P64G7-ZXI9Q-46NCL
The one thing I notice about the cover is in the upper right corner, there is the current WWE logo with the word Attitude under it. Is the WWE trying to get away from current PG era and go back to the Attitude era? I am really interested in what the single-player storyline is going to be for WWE 13. WWE 13 is scheduled to released on October 30, 2012.
