321 Studios Shuts Its Doors

321 Studios Shuts Its Doors

321 Studios, the company that sold DVD-copying software and faced an avalanche of lawsuits from the entertainment industry, shut down Monday.

The St. Charles, Missouri, company made DVD-X Copy and DVD Copy Plus — programs that allowed users to make backup copies of their commercial DVDs. Hollywood studios filed several lawsuits to force the company to stop selling its products, saying the company was helping pirates. The Missouri company had denied any wrongdoing, claiming DVD purchasers had the right to make copies for personal use.

Once the legislation was written and the appeal was lost, they were doomed anyway. -KF

was bullit proof for John Q', cut all the crap out and did the auto compression stuff, an easy one button deal. There are better programs out there, Dvd decryptor lets you pick and choose what you want on the copy, and best of all, its free......................uses the nero burning enguine. b0wz

Thrax DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink are infinitely better than the crock of crap that 321 Studios produced. Not only are DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink superior products, they're free, and of better final quality.
