   Desktop Semprons will use the same basic underpinnings as desktop Athlon XP processors, while notebook Semprons will be based on mobile Athlon 64 processors but lack certain features, such as 64-bit addressing.

   
   I would almost be willing to bet within a month of the release of that Mobile chip we will be eiher connecting or blowing bridges and turning them into full blown 64's at a fraction of the cost.

   28 Jul 2004 ~ 8:49pm shwaip Depends on how they're locked. They could be locked in a similar fashion to how the P4's multipliers are locked (on the silicon, IIRC) which will not be undo-able, most likely.

   28 Jul 2004 ~ 9:08pm Thrax turns up that the s754 3100+ Sempron is faster than the full blown 2800+ A64. And it's only like $130.
