ATI Topples Nvidia In Card Sales

Recently published figures put ATi ahead of nVidia in video card marketshare.

The numbers will show that, for the calendar quarter three this year, Nvidia’s market share in the discrete graphics sector as a whole was 37% compared to ATI’s market share of 59%. That’s a huge swing from the Q2 figures, which showed Nvidia at 50% and ATI at 46%, and represents a significant gain for ATI in the sector. Discrete graphics, for those not up on the lingo, means add-in boards like the GeForceFX 5200 or the X800 XT.

edcentric 'leading' and 'sales' are not always the same thing.
NVidea has put a lot of very good effort into mobo chipsets.
I think that both the video card market and mobo chipset markets are healthier now than we have seen in many years.
As long as they keep producing faster products at lower prices I'll be happy.
  9. Unregistered Nvidia needs to integrate more of the VIVO and TV tuners on to their chipset. This could very well help in its share of the market.
