“Avid Technology Inc., which makes software that edits video and sound, will buy audio technology company Midiman Inc. for $80 million in cash, 2 million common shares, the assumption of Midiman stock options and possible future payments.
Closely held Midiman, which does business as M-Audio, will become part of Avid’s Digidesign audio unit.”
