   Some people are concerned about big brother invading their privacy but Mayor Daley says the cameras will be located in public areas.

   
   Once You step out of your house onto the street, your in a Public area.......

   I still think it's good though b/c there have been 3 shootings in the past 2 weeks in my neighborhood. Not to mention the car that someone torched last night on my block. They should have implemented this system at the beginning of the summer....

   13 Sep 2004 ~ 9:03am QCH The idea of camera's is the same as having a beat cop on every street. It keeps the peace. The only time a cop bugs you (theoretically) is when you're doing something wrong or you look like you just did something wrong.
   
   The camera thing will be so large that individuals will be safe from the "Big Brother". No one can watch [all] the cameras that are installed. If a crime is reported, the cameras in that are will be monitored. If need be, the police can queue up the tapes to find evidence. I highly doubt that the police will start issuing tickets or arrest warrants via camera for jay-walking ... they're looking for drug deals, hit and runs, mugging, and other major crimes. The "Big Brother" claim is over used and exaggerated.
