Warp2Search reports that Game UK (a UK retailer) has stated the UK release date for ‘Doom III’ has changed to 6th August 2004. Apparently this is the first time a UK retailer has announced a release date in this manner.

I pre-ordered Doom 3 from Game UK some time ago. This morning I received this email:

Your pre-order reference xxxxxxxx/x.

As you may already be aware, the UK release date for ‘Doom III’ has changed to 06-Aug-2004.

Please don’t worry, your order is still ‘live’ and will be despatched to you on the day prior to the revised release date, via your chosen method of shipping, unless you advise us to the contrary.

Here’s hoping this one is final. This is the first time a UK retailer has announced a release date, as far as I am aware.

    11 Jun 2004 ~ 12:57am TheSmJ Often times retailers are as unaware of actual release/ship dates as everyone else is. But, they still need a date, so they put up a good guess.
  2. 19 Jun 2004 ~ 8:30am doom3 :D i have ordered my copy of doom 3 special duluxe edition and it is dated to be released 8 weeks before the standard edition the standard edtion coming ot the uk in october and the duluxe edition coming on the 27th of august
