Half-Life 2 Release Date Set For November

Valve delivered the code of its new Half-Life game to VU on September 15. Now, the release date is quickly is getting closer. According to a report, Half-Life 2 will on sale on November 23 in the US. Europe will follow on November 26. US retailers expect availability in the first week of November.

Developer Valve still is tight-lipped when it comes to the release of the game. Spokesperson Doug Lombardi told Eurogamer Doug that he “does not have a release date from VUG right now.” A source at VU Games however said that “there is a good chance Half-Life 2 will make it before this Christmas,” according to the magazine.

2 Oct 2004 ~ 9:41pm TheSmJ It's a fact that not only has this never been verified, but Valve has stated over and over that HL2 will be released simultaneously around the world.

IMO, it's just a rumor, and far from newsworthy.
3 Oct 2004 ~ 3:44pm Animal there is a review of it in pc gamer... an actual review that states the release date will be the one above... if they were not going to release it then, then the would not have given it to the mag reviewing it...
3 Oct 2004 ~ 4:14pm floppybootstomp Hope it's true. I still playing Doom 3, wasn't impressed at first, left it a few weeks, went back to it and now really getting into it - it gets better, it seems, the further you play it.

And I nearly finished CoD United Offensive, in my humble opinion - best game ever.

Due to the (what I consider) credibility of the source and the amount of distribution it was deemed newsworthy as it appeared that this was not just another garden variety rumor and was more actual news. I hope this is their final answer as they are out of lifelines at this point....
