Intel, ASUS Ceased Partnership

ASUS, one of the world’s largest maker of motherboards, and Intel, the world’s largest manufacturer of microprocessors and supporting products, have possibly broken their partnership in the field of making mainboards.

In case ASUS is no longer listed as an Intel mainboard partner, the companies might have suspended the partnership because of unknown reasons. Among possible causes for the likely break off a source close to both companies suspected that the firms did not succeed in negotiating about pricing of the products.

uhhm why do you not want thrax here? Maybe i shouldn't ask. So seriously what does this mean. What consecvenses will this have.

Thrax is the biggest anti-Intel person I know of.

Although, when I spoke with Asus' US Marketing Director over the weekend, most of his comments were related to Asus products running Intel stuff, not AMD. :confused2

29 Jun 2004 ~ 4:21pm qparadox Mmmm Asus isn't gonna stop making mainboards with Intel chipsets, that's gotta be like 75% of their M/B revenue. Asus might stop making mainboards labelled as "Intel". Its probably just "tough" negotation tactics being used by both sides (Intel removing Asus as a "partner," Asus refusing to budge?) to try and force a deal.

That would imply that Intel bullies other manufacturers. How could you believe such a thing?
