Intel shows handheld chip, Microsoft unveils unified PC-console

Seeking growth beyond the PC, [b]Intel[/b] showed its first handheld graphics chip and [b]Microsoft[/b] said it would unify its PC and console graphics environments on the opening day of the [i]Game Developers Conference[/i] here.

[blockquote]Aimed at a rising tide of cell phones and PDAs with 3D graphics, Intel described Marathon, a 3D chip it will formally launch in tandem with its next-generation cell phone chip, Bulverde, at the Intel Developer Forum in Taipei, Taiwan, in April.
