Logitech Adds Tilt-Wheel

Some information and images of Logitech’s latest mice and keyboard line has made it onto the web. The company seems to be following Microsoft’s lead by adding a tilt-wheel feature to its new mice range.

The MX Laser Cordless Mouse will probably replace the MX 700 mouse. Compared to the MX 700 the MX Laser Cordless has a bigger thumb rest, a tilt-wheel, the “application switch button” has been placed next to the “browser back/forward buttons”, and a larger battery life indicator with multiple LED’s. A gamer version (replacement for the MX 510) and a Bluetooth version (replacement for the Bluetooth MX 900) will also be released. There’s no news on the performance of their optical engine.

Logitech has also added new keyboards to their line-up, with new designs and even more multimedia buttons. Logitech had previously added the scroll-wheel to their keyboards. Now they’re doing the same with the “application switch button”, previously only found on their mice. This feature has been added to most of their new keyboards. It will be interesting to see what Logitech will do with the successor of the ultra high-end Dinovo.

10 Jun 2004 ~ 6:34pm Sputnik ugh.... unless its better than the m$ implementation, i'm sticking with my mx700 for a good long while. also did they realize that some people like long thin mice? I have both an MX 700 and a wired version of the microsoft tilt wheel explorer mouse and i absolutely hate the feel of it.

The tilt-wheel feature is primarily aimed at people who for example, work on very large spreadsheets etc etc, spreadsheet's that even on massive monitors don't show the full work area. I have a MS IME v2 and I love it, but admittedly I rarely use the tilt-wheel. But like I said, I can see it benefiting some people.

Yeah pretty much, just left to right. As for the link, it's not the link itself, the site I've linked to is actually down at the moment.

The price is getting better....

The "media" pad tells you when you have mail when you are away from the 'puter and acts as a remote. It's worth it for that alone

11 Jun 2004 ~ 10:55pm OverLoad when are we going to see the total elimnation of the keyboard altogether? i mean ive seen things on tv where the military is controlling a flight simulator just by thinking. Is that getting to much into the matrix realm? LOL
