Microsoft feels pressure of anti-virus issue

With viruses proliferating and many personal computers going unprotected, Microsoft feels greater pressure to include anti-virus software with Windows, but it’s also wary of the potential antitrust implications, the company’s top lawyer said Friday.

We definitely have emerged from all the antitrust issues of the last decade with a keen appreciation for the wide variety of ways in which our decisions affect others,” Smith said. “There are a number of very important companies that we collaborate very closely with, and have for years, who are in the anti-virus space.
