Motherboard Monitor Discontinued

I’ve personally used MBM for as long as I can remember and it’s a great little utility. Sadly though Alex Van Kaam the developer has decided to call it a day and has discontinued its development. Short-Media wish him all the best in what ever he does.

Yes you read it right, after thinking about it for several weeks I have decided to stop development on MBM. Over the years many (if not all) clones appeared that tried to do what MBM did. Some succeeded others did not. Some I feel where technically and user wise better then MBM but with an average of 6000 hits a day and coverage on almost every PC magazine in the world it still seems to be the most popular monitoring tool around. And it is better to stop at your peak.

6 Jul 2004 ~ 1:40pm EyesOnly Can anyone reccomend a replacement for it. If there is a good one i'll go with it. Right now i'm using asus probe which is good but if there is any better one i'll check it out.

The only consolation is that it should still work for current bios monitoring chips. The downside is that future MB's will not be recognized by the program.

I am betting that with this news there will be bunch of people who are going to try and write the next killer monitoring app. Hopefully at least one of them will succeed.

As far as a replacement, Speedfan isn't bad.
6 Jul 2004 ~ 8:41pm mmonnin I dont know what all Dan can code but its not even close to PHP or anything like that. Its more reading from the hardware chips than anything I would guess.
