TheSmJ As long as the non-ultra retails for ~$250, it just might become my next board.

Any word if it (the non-ultra) will be any better than a 8900XT?

Hard|OCP had pricing info on the ATI series. Where did you see pricing and clock speed info on the NV40?

    X800 SE 8 pipes - 450mhz - 128bit DDR1 400mhz DDR1$299
    X800 Pro 12 pipes - 500mhz - 256bit DDR3 500mhz $399
    X800 XT 16 pipes - 600mhz - 256bit DDR3 600mhz $499

    GeForce 6800 ????
    GeForce 6800-Ultra ?????

KingFish You're right omega. I clicked the picture right above the headline for the nv40 and was thinking it was for the nvidia when it was for the ati. I followed a link from hardocp.com and it showed the 6800ultra to be retailing for $399. Looks like nvidia will take the next battle according to pricing and early benchmark results.

Found some pricing info on Hard|OCP Link

    GeForce 6800 16 pipes 400mhz - 256Bit DDR3 550Mhz $299
    GeForce 6800-Ultra 16 pipes 400+mhz - 256bit DDR3 600mhz $399
    GeForce 6800 info link

So Far the Rumors have the 16 pipeline NV40 doing 12K 3DMarks03 (U or Non-U Unknown) and a 12 pipeline R420 doing 10K 3DMarks. What the 16 pipe version will do is up in the air.
