Intel Pentium-M 780 (2.26ghz) Processor Review

GamePC reviews the Intel Pentium-M 780 (2.26ghz) Processor.

Throughout the past year, Intel’s Pentium-M processor has gained somewhat of a cult following throughout the enthusiast community. Misunderstood by many, the Pentium-M processor offers exceptional performance per clock and unbeatably low heat production and power consumption for those who choose to utilize it. While the price of entry is high, along with the fact that Pentium-M platforms as seen as riskier investments compared to mainstream processors (given that Intel has never officially sanctioned the chip as a desktop platform), the benefits of Intel’s Pentium-M processor are just too good to overlook.

Impressive performance, especially when overclocked

Garg Very impressive. More power clock-for-clock than an Athlon 64. I know what's on my Christmas list.

airbornflght yeh yeh yeh...Its still expensive.

I like my a64, for as little as it cost, it outperforms my parents p4 hp

mmonnin Its expensive only because its new. Take an older chip and take it to the same speeds as your A64 and it will win in some benchmarks where the FPU doesnt come into play. And it will use less wattage as well.
