Microsoft and Time Warner in talks

Microsoft and Time Warner have been in talks to discuss a possible partnership between MSN and AOL. The exact shape of the partnership is yet to be determined.

The most elaborate proposal being discussed would involve combining America Online with the MSN Internet portal and dial-up Internet business, creating the world’s largest Internet company. The venture’s Web search would be provided by Microsoft. That combination would be a significant blow to Google, which provides the Web search on AOL’s services. This year, 11 percent of Google revenue came from advertising it placed on AOL sites.

Talk about a scary future!

Private_Snoball I don't know much about the ways of big business merging, but I think the courts will have a few things to say about this. If MS merges with AOL, that will just give a lot of people reasons to hate MS even more. I like MS, but I hate AOL, how will I ever make up my mind how I feel.

airbornflght hmmm...i hope this does not go through.. because everything aol has touched except aim, has not turned out to good. maybe if microsoft bought aol and then got rid of aol all together..that would be awesome.
