Xbox 360 Specs Unveiled

Xbox 360 Specs Unveiled

Microsofts next Xbox will be more powerful then most peoples PCs. With ATI Making its 48 piped chipset and IBM at the wheel of its 3 3.2ghz watercooled processors Microsoft seems to be ahead of the game.

As a game console, the Xbox 360 comes packing a serious amount of appeal for both gamers and developers. From a development standpoint, game creators are being handed the keys to a powerful piece of machinery that challenges them to try to tap its potential. The powerful hardware, complete with an unprecedented amount of RAM (one of the key things developers always want more of), is as tricked-out as a console has ever been.

Wow, This is VERY Impressive.

My God. What with pictures from that and the PS3, I hopehopehope the Revolution can pull its weight. Even if they say "it won't be the best based on raw power," it better whoop some tail. Agh! Can't... Wait... Till... E3... Info! :werr:

360/PS3 beat the living hell out of my computer, MANY times over. It's crazy. Hopefully they can still manage to sell them for $300... I doubt it, but one can hope.

Second, you do realize the type of forum that you're attending, correct? This is a tech forum. Geek is pretty much synonymous. So, your attempt at insulting ANYONE at this place has been pretty much shoved right back down your throat. Thanks, and have a nice day. :)

    Beautiful answer, Cyclonite!

Man, it looks like the Xbox is going to be more powerful than its $2500 Mac brethren.

I want to run 6 folding instances on one Xbox... w00t!
  8. Cyclonite
    Cyclonite Heh. Thanks.

But, anyway... I'm pretty excited about this. I just hope it's in the normal console price range. And, I hope the games stay at $50 too. I fear they may jump up to $70-80 a piece. *Tear*

primesuspect Jump "up" to? You mean jump BACK to.. I remember paying $80 for Chrono Trigger and $80 for FF3 (US) on the Super Nintendo! ;D
  10. EMT
EMT You did? I don't remember that... they weren't that expensive were they!? Then again I wasn't exactly the chief financier at that age :)
  11. primesuspect
primesuspect Oh yeah.. I ran out to Meijer (open 24 hours) after work when I was like 18 to pick up Chrono Trigger. I couldn't WAIT. I paid $79.99 for that f'in cartridge. And I loved every minute of it :D
  12. EMT
EMT Ohh, the day/day before it came out. Yeah... it's worth it, for a game that good :)
  13. entropy
entropy Dude. Prime, speaking of that, I read that the Revolution will be backwards compatible - infinitely. They're allowing you to download the games for pretty much any Nintendo console (and maybe GBx?). That might mean you have to pay a few bucks, or it could be part of a monthly subscription or something. But good God, that's pure brilliance.
