Bill Gates showed off Vista’s video and entertainment features, and stated that software will be the unifying factor in the anticipated convergence of entertainment platforms – obviously, Microsoft wants Vista to be that unifying software.
Gates also downplayed the threat from Web search leader Google Inc., saying in an interview that Microsoft faced a host of rivals ranging from IBM to Apple to Sony to Nokia in its bid to control the next generation of software.
