Intel Pushes Tulsa Forward

The link to put Intel back in the running for 4 to 8 core server systems has been pushed forward to 3rd Quarter 2006. Tulsa is based on Intel’s new “Core” micro architecture, and will ship as a dual core processor with a massive 16 MB of L3 cache. Quad core Tulsa processors are expected to ship in the first half of 2007.

Tulsa will debut as dual-core processor with 16 MB of L3 cache and is expected to be available as quad-core in the first half of 2007. Today’s 8P systems with 16 (8×2) cores could move to more than 32 physical cores within less than a year.
