NVIDIA 7900GS, 7500GT

A few slides have hit the web disclosing a few new toys rolling out of NVIDIA. We have the 7900GS which will be based on a lower clocked G71 chip and should be a good contender with ATI’s X1900 series. We don’t have exact specs on this new card, but we figure it will be around the 7900GT range in performance. NVIDIA also has a budget card rolling out under the flagship name 7500GT. We expect this new card to be cheaper than the current 7600 series and to perform slightly slower.

The second one will be the Geforce 7500 GT, probably based on Nvidia’s G73 core and it is therefore logical to conclude it will be cheaper and run at at a lower clock speed than the 7600 generation of cards.

Thrax What's the point of the 7900GS if it's similar to the 7900GT, which is already designed to compete with the X1900..

Wouldn't it be more economical to sell 7900GTs at a reduced price, rather than manufacturing new boards?
