The Register: Ageia PhysX Review

The latest news on the Ageia PhysX processor is rather mixed, but the game companies should nudge that in a decidedly positive direction once they catch up with the new technology.

The premise of physics acceleration by dedicated hardware is a solid one. While there’s always a downside to adding an extra piece of hardware to a PC to do something better – cost, noise, heat and power consumption – the upsides usually make it worthwhile.

However, much like the early days of 3D graphics, the PhysX PPU needs traction with a killer title or two to make the world sit up and notice. GR:AW isn’t the one, and neither is Bet on Soldier or Rise of Nations.

Enverex Haha, owned. I'd liked to have seen benchmarks of the same effects but not using the add-on processor (unless the green/black entry is that [I assumed it disabled the effects when it was turned off though], in which case - HAHAHAHAHA).

airbornflght im waiting for the ppu's to be integrated on the same card as the gpu and memory for one tight and clean package.
