With the “official” patch from Microsoft not slated to be released for another two weeks, those who would rather not wait now have another option.
An independent group of engineers known as the “Zeroday Emergency Response Team” has issued a patch for a zero day security vulnerability in the Internet Explorer browser. The ZERT team’s patch repairs a vulnerability in the vector markup language component in the program that could allow an attacker to take over control of a system without any user interaction.
