22″ of LCD goodness

22″ of LCD goodness

Viewsonic’s 22″ widescreen LCD monitor would sure look good on my desk. Somebody send me an early Christmas present.

primesuspect no included dvi cable = lame

Shrout says "While some users won't be able to tell the difference between the analog VGA and digital DVI inputs, some will and that might be a strike one on Viewsonic."

I call BS. I have never met a user (and trust me, the users I have supported have been the 'lowest common denominator' - people who barely know how to use a mouse) who has not been able to tell the extremely distinctive difference between the sharp, crisp native DVI signal and the muddy, interference prone analog connection.

There's no excuse for lack of DVI cable in any high end monitor. Put it this way: if you have a video card capable of pushing 1680x1050, you have a DVI port.

    BuddyJ But is this a high-end monitor, Prime? It's $250. That's not a high-end price.
  3. primesuspect
primesuspect It's not a high end monitor, but neither is it a "aunt betty" monitor. People who are buying 22" LCDs, even budget models, have DVI ports.
  4. jared
jared I agree. That is equivalent to HP selling printers with ink cartridges half full and no USB cord... aka complete bull****.
  5. BuddyJ
BuddyJ Yep, and HP gets away with it. Viewsonic will too.
  6. primesuspect
primesuspect I own a "budget" viewsonic monitor though - a 19" lcd that I bought for cheap a year or two ago, and it came with a DVI cable. :-/

Kinetik I've got about 20 DVI cables laying around. You pay shipping and it's yours.
