Heatspreaders – good or bad?

   28 Sep 2007 ~ 11:01am broady81 Makes me laugh considering the salesman who I bought my Memory off a few days ago (along with my system), tried selling me the exact same memory but with a marginally bigger heatsink, for £30 more :rolleyes2 just justifies my purchase even more :bigggrin:

   It'd be nicer to see them try it with a module that has more aggressive cooling. Something with a decent sized set of fins on the sink other than the more cosmetic OCZ ones they had.
   
   Also, with no airflow over the modules, one can't expect increased surface area to have much of an impact on cooling. The sinks would act more as an insulator than a cooler. I'd like to see some airflow over the modules in a future review.
