Clocks Forward? Back? It doesn't matter!!!

A new study shows that the wonderful, government instituted policy of Daylight Savings is a total crock of BS!

    CB DST = useless

I've known for years, but it's always nice to have a study to back you up. :)
  2. Cyclonite
Cyclonite All I know is it causes a ridiculous amount of headaches for about half my Outlook users every time the clock changes. And it's never consistent. Grrr...
  3. RADA
RADA I lived in Arizona for 14 years. We never moved our clocks there, and everything worked just fine. DST was crap-science latched onto by crap-politicians, and we're paying for it... Nothing new there....
  4. mas0n
mas0n My understanding of DST is that regardless of what the peons have been told it was never intended to save money, but actually to promote consumerism by shifting the time that we work and having more daylight in the evening. More daylight during leisure hours = more shopping. DST has never been good for the consumer directly, but good for business and our economy. I still think it's stupid and outdated, and I'd like to see a study that analyzes it's overall effect on our economy.

csimon Well I'm not one to advocate DST but I think that Ben Franklin was a complete genius and I've always had total respect for the man as a scientist and polititian.
Here's a little website on the subject that I just googled http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/.

Oh yeah ...and I've never heard anything about it supposedly saving me money.
  6. Winfrey
Winfrey It was mostly set up to help our then mostly agrarian society have more daylight to get stuff done. It really doesn't hold much water for today's society though.

Nickboxer7 O Chuck, I never miss your history briefs :)

All I know is I thought I was getting home early tonight but it was just because it was still sunny :( I still felt better though.
