After reading the guy's newest article, essentially attacking the image of gamers themselves, I feel sort of sorry for him.
I wanted to e-mail him and let him know in a nice way, journalist to journalist, that he really was making himself look like a jerk, and that sex-deprived gamer-nerds are not the only people who think so. That real live non-teenaged people also think he could have approached the situation with more diplomacy, and more journalistic credibility than he did.
However, when I tried to message him through the website he writes for, it asked me to register for the site first, which included home address and phone number, so I didn't.
Honestly, that's probably why many of the responses he received were so immature, caustic, and angry. Only an angry teenager would be willing to jump through these hoops just to message the guy, and as we all know, angry teenagers can say some really stupid stuff. People wanting to write a real, and well considered note would simply turn away.
Howdy, Stranger!
