- Windows Media Player now supports Apple’s QuickTime .MOV format. Power users the world over will be joyously throwing their hands in the air to know they can banish QuickTime’s impressive and irritating bloat from their system.
- Performance telemetry has helped Microsoft improve interface and task performance. An example is in the start menu which now opens in <100ms for 92% of all Windows users. This is a 7% improvement over build 7000.
- Streaming internet radio has been significantly improved. Thousands of users found that playback was choppy with build 7000.
- Support for FAT32 hard disks restored.
- Many Windows Logo + Key hotkeys have been reverted back to their XP/Vista functionality. Users will be able to optionally configure them for their Windows 7-style functionality.
