Just last week we detailed the 12-core Magny-Cours CPU which AMD is developing for the enterprise in 2010. As a little proof that the future isn’t too far away, a tipster has made the rounds and offered pictures of the little guy in action.
Here’s what we get from the pictures:
- The CPU-Z read of the chip shows an engineering sample clockspeed of 800MHz. The real deal will launch at or around 200*8.5 (1700MHz).
- The ES platform is clearly a dual-socket solution.
- The chip’s 12 cores plowed through a 32m prime number calculation in under 6.5 flat.
- The 12 cores share 10MB of L3 cache.
