Adobe Flash 10.1 is not delayed, confirmed for BlackBerry

Despite rumors that Adobe’s Flash 10.1 release was being delayed until 2H10, Adobe confirmed that the company is still on schedule for the first half of this year.

Speaking exclusively to Phonescoop, Adobe spokesperson Stefan Offermann said that comments made by Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen have been misinterpreted.

“Adobe is still on track making Flash Player 10.1 for first mobile platforms including Android available before the end of the first half of 2010,” Offermann said. “Smartphone companies like Google and RIM and Palm are going to be releasing versions of Flash on smartphones and tablets in the second half of the year.”

The gist of the message is that while Adobe might be on track with its Flash 10.1 release, Android, webOS and BlackBerry devices are not slated to get support from their makers until the second half of the year.
