Amazon's DRM-free goes global soon

When Amazon first took the lids off of their ambitious plan to sell DRM-free MP3s to fight iTunes, it was stifled by the fact that the offer would only be available in the US. Fast-forward to today, and Amazon is announcing that they will be expanding their efforts globally later in 2008.

With the big four record labels on Amazon’s side, what’s reported as a sizable library, and no want for better pricing, Amazon could be a real contender to iTunes soon. Is Jeff Bezos crazy or brilliant? Maybe both!

jhenry I wish they would use DRM-free AAC... but that's just me.

Hopefully this will get Apple to lower prices or get more iT+ files.
