AMD Catalyst 10.8 released

AMD Catalyst 10.8 released

Today AMD released the 10.8 version of their Catalyst video drivers, for all current Radeon and Radeon Mobility cards.

New features include full support for OpenGL ES 2.0 (it was previously beta), enhanced default quality profiles for video viewing, Antialiasing support for StarCraft II, CrossFire profile updates for Mafia 2, Singularity, Final Fantasy XIV, LotR Online, and Aliens vs. Predator, performance improvements for a short list of games, and perhaps most desired: a fix for the “corrupt mouse cursor” bug that has plagued so many.

A full list of bug fixes, enhancements, and other improvements is available on their release notes (PDF).

Ryder What is in the list and what link doesn't appear to work? There are 9 links in the article.

Ah, none of the download links work. Prime, you can't link directly to the individual downloads.
  4. Snarkasm
Snarkasm It was on the list in 10.4, too. Here's hoping.
  5. Tushon
Tushon The mouse cursor issue. In their release notes, the issue is under "Resolved Issues for the Windows 7 OS" as the last bullet

I have a friend of mine, running a 4850, dual monitor set up and his system has been frequently locking up....

I've tried everything at home, but, I run my test bench on a single monitor set up...

Shwaip, have you been getting system lock ups on a dual monitor set up? I might need to update his driver to 10.8 and cross my fingers.

shwaip I get lockups here and there, but i think it's overheating (still playing with my fan speed curves a bit). I've got crossfire 5870s with a single monitor, so I wouldn't be getting any of the crashes due to multimonitor displays...but I still get pointer corruption.
  10. RocShemp There is no mention of it in the release notes but the Silent Stream bug is gone with the 5xxx series. However, there is a bug that does not apply the saved overscan/underscan setting at boot.

shwaip Still getting corrupted pointer in SC2 :/
