AMD releases FirePro V7800, V5800, V4800 and V3800 GPUs

AMD releases FirePro V7800, V5800, V4800 and V3800 GPUs

Following the introduction of the FirePro V8800, AMD has announced today the official unveiling of four additional GPUs in the series: the V7800, V5800, V4800 and V3800 adapters for workstation systems.

“AMD’s new ATI FirePro workstation graphics cards are the world’s first to support up to four monitors on a single card – enabling increased productivity for professional graphics users,” said Janet Matsuda, senior director, Professional Graphics, AMD. “Our new ATI FirePro family delivers new value at every price point.”

Today’s product announcements represent a complete transition of AMD’s workstation division to the Evergreen architecture first developed for the Radeon HD 5870. The new products target price brackets below that of the V8800, including:

  • High-end: With 2GB of GDDR5 memory, the ATI FirePro V7800 offers performance in a single slot form factor. Equipped with ATI Eyefinity technology, professionals can drive up to three independent 30” displays at one time.
  • Mid-range: The ATI FirePro V5800 is positioned as a price/performance product. Featuring 1GB of GDDR5 memory and EyeFinity support, AMD says performance of this adapter may be up to double that of its predecessor, the V5700.
  • Entry-level: The ATI FirePro V4800 features 1GB of GDD5 memory and delivers up to 1.25X the performance of the V3750. Complete with EyeFinity and a 30-bit pipeline, the V4800 is positioned as an ideal entry-level solution for CAD.

Complete with DirectX 11, DirectCompute 11, OpenCL and OpenGL 4.0 support, the latest FirePro solutions are expected to be available from HP, CDW, New Egg, Tiger Direct and other online retailers.
