AMD and NVIDIA price fixing?

Here’s the 2002 email from NVIDA’s then-senior VP of marketing, Dan Vivoli, to ATI’s then-president and CEO, Dave Orton.

“I really think we should work harder together on the marketing front. As you and I have talked about, even though we are competitors, we have the common goal of making our category a well positioned, respected playing field. $5 and $8 stocks are a result of no respect.”

It’s not something I’d want to see in the plaintiff’s hands at my class action hearing, but apparently that’s what happened earlier this month in a California court. The full story is here, but to summarize, things aren’t looking good for NVIDIA and AMD on the legal front.
