Preparing for the launch of its newest JRPG Hexyz Force for the PlayStation Portable, Atlus has released an official trailer, as well as a set of screenshots and art images.

In Hexyz Force, you take control of either a young female cleric named Cecilia, or the elite knight who goes by Levant. Each character has their own 25-30 hour storyline and a unique take on the game, offering a good deal of replayability. The game also has a strong anime overtone, including 20 minutes of anime cutscenes.

The background of the world in Hexyz Force is nothing short of magnificent. Its origin story tells the tale of the Goddess of Creation, Norvia, who created both life and the protectors of existence known as the Divinities. Eventually after a time of peace, Delgaia, the God of Destruction, desired to lay waste to the world. After a great battle between the Divinities and Delgaia, the world lay in ruins. Norvia restored the world, but decreed an Hour of Judgment to come—where its inhabitants will determine whether the world will ultimately be saved… or torn apart.

Hexyz Force is promising a breath of fresh air for JRPG players. Intended for enjoyment over the trials of yore, Atlus has attempted to streamline some of the standard play mechanics found in the JRPG genre. Some of these include flexible strategies, quick if not instant load times, and an option to install the game from the PSP UMD disc to a Memory Stick.

Look for Hexyz Force in stores as a physical disc on May 25, 2101, or electronically over the PlayStation Network on May 27. Both versions will cost the same, at $29.99.

Bandrik I'm actually very intrigued by this game. The graphics look a little blocky, even for the PSP. But the game itself seems like it would be a lot of fun. I'll give it a look sometime.
